Water is the most important element used throughout the process used to produce paper. As this resource becomes more costly and difficult to obtain, and with growing restrictions on mill discharges, the need to clean and reuse process water is increasingly being scrutinized. What if taking action to reuse your process water actually adds profit to your bottom line by reducing cost?

In energy-intensive sectors such as pulp and paper, the ability to reuse all water that has been heated to process temperatures is critical. Where the cost of fibre is the most expensive part of the sheet, it is critical that none is allowed to leave the mill except in the product.

ALGAS cleans and polishes process water, rendering it ready to be used in the process as a source of heated clear water. Depending on the objectives, ALGAS can condition process water to replace current uses of fresh water while reducing effluent flows and solids loading on biological treatment processes.

Algas Microfilters are a step forward
in the evolution of your process:
          Totally flexible -
For a wide range of pulp & paper applications:
Handle most of your water and effluent treatment
      requirements
Treatment of incoming water – from river or other sources
Fibre recovery - using the clear filtrate to replace fresh water
Recover fibre and raw materials      Process ‘’clear’’ water from existing savealls, disc filters,
DAFs, etc. to SUPER CLEAR quality
Increase the quality and quantity of treated water
