	Optimizing Sludge Treatment When trying to optimize Sludge Treatment, our client installed the METSO kajaaniTS Total Solids analyzer. With a sound and repeatable measurement of Sludge Total Solids, the plant optimized what was clearly an overdosing of polymers. 	Sludge Solids Measurements The kajaaniTS has proven itself as the only reliable instrument that can measure solids from the clarifiers. Our Ravensview installations have demonstrated to the City of Kingston and others that the kajaniiTS correlates better to the laboratory than any other technology that they have used. The Ravensview Operators can now be confident in their Sludge Solids measurements so much so that they don’t over pump water into the Digesters. They use to run the sludge pumps based on a time duration which inevitably would end up pumping water. Now, they use the kajaaniTS to pump only until the Sludge Solids content goes down to 4% and then switch to another Clarifier pump and repeat the procedure. Ken Klempner, Tecumseth
